Who might benefit from coaching?
Doctoral students and academics at any career stage, especially those using qualitative methods.
Do you feel uninspired or lost with your PhD?
Do your PhD supervisors only have so much time available to supervise you, and you feel under-supported?
Do you have problems with motivation, time-management, accountability, prioritising, or proscrastination as a doctoral student?
Do you need more guidance with qualitative methods? Perhaps your PhD supervisors are not qualitative experts.
Do you want to improve your confidence as a PhD student?
Are you struggling with completion of a publication, such as a journal article, conference paper, book chapter or monograph?
Do you have a sense of imposter syndrome – a feeling that you don’t fully belong?
Are you at a crossroads in academia and don’t know which way to turn?
Do you feel stuck?
I am a Coaching Professional with over 17 years’ experience in academia, of conducting qualitative research, and of successfully supervising, advising and coaching PhD students and academics. I offer:
Coaching for PhD students on various aspects of PhD study such as: academic skills, time-keeping, accountability, motivation, using qualitative methods, thesis writing, job seeking, and more.
Coaching for academics on qualitative methods and projects, academic writing (i.e. journal article, conference papers, chapters and books).
I also offer coaching for social researchers working alongside or outside of academia and who are using qualitative methods in applied work.
I’m not sure if coaching is for me?
Often people initially come to me without a specific idea of what the issue is, but they generally feel stuck. I can help you put a plan of action together.
What are your rates?
Please contact me for more information on the packages I offer and rates. I offer a free ‘discovery call’ to first work out what the issue is, decide if coaching is appropriate for you, and then we plan a package based on our action plan. I can offer discounts for unwaged and part-time clients.
What next? How do I find out more? Book a ‘discovery call’
Please contact me to discuss your requirements. Book in with me for a free short ‘discovery call’ at a time which works for you. This is an informal no obligation chat about what you would like help with, how I can help and work with you, and also how we would model the sessions to support you if you decide to go ahead. If you are unsure exactly what you’d like to work on then don’t worry, we can work this out together.
If you are working in a research team or closely with other PhD students then you might want to book group sessions for coaching or mentoring to keep costs lower and benefit from the experience of group coaching.
